Treatment centers
From Drug Rehab Wiki
Treatment centers are residential rehabilitation programs that treat alcohol and drug addiction. The contemporary treatment center offers more than simply detox and 30 days with supervised abstinence from alcohol and drugs. The best treatment centers offer individual therapy in a variety of styles including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and more traditional group and family therapy. Boutique treatment centers with small client populations will often customize the therapy by client, bringing in clinicians with specific specializations to treat the individual's issue. For example, if a client has obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and hoarding issues, the treatment center will find a hoarding specialist for therapeutic sessions during the client's stay.
Treatment centers may also offer alternative or complementary therapies such as equine therapy, art therapy, neurofeedback, EMDR, acupuncture, and yoga. They may also offer neurological testing such as SPECT and DESA scans. Treatment centers vary in focus and size, with some treating 80 or more clients at a time. Other treatment centers focus on small groups with no more than six clients in a residential house.
