Schedule I Controlled Substances
A controlled substance is a drug or substance that is regulated under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) of 1970. Schedule I Controlled Substances refers to a category of drugs not considered legitimate for medical use.

Specific Drugs Classified as Schedule I Controlled Substances

Note that drugs and substances in the Controlled Substance Schedules are sometimes added to or removed. For example, since the Controlled Substances Act was first enacted in 1970, approximately 160 substances have been added, removed, or transferred to another schedule.
